Sam Feldt wows with surprise second album release "Sunset"

Just six weeks on from the release of his debut album "Sunrise", esteemed Dutch producer Sam Feldt has already dropped its sequel "Sunset". The DJ from Amsterdam teamed up with Shaggy and many others for this.

Feldt already proved himself this year as one of the most leading electronic artists in the industry with hits such as "Fade Away", "Open Your Eyes" and "Yes" (feat. Akon), and now he shows his diversity once more with the release of his second LP in just under two months. Celebrating his 24th birthday earlier this year, the number plays an important part and is a recurring theme throughout the project. With "Sunrise" and "Sunset" both comprising 12 tracks each - 24 in total - the albums combined are representative of the 24 hours of the day and it is, of course, no coincidence the latter has been released on the 24th November.

The first single of the album "Wishing Well" ft. Olivia Sebastianelli, looks at the influence of alcohol on life and relationships, making it immediately clear that Sam has chosen a different theme for this album. Tracks "Deja Vu" and "Start Again" are about moving on after a relationship and are much deeper in terms of sound than the happy summer sound that Sam Feldt has become so well known for. "Leave Me Alone" with George Shelley proves that Sam is well and truly pushing the boundaries of this genre. The deeper and more experimental character of "Sunset" creates a perfect balance with the previous album "Sunrise". Sam himself makes the comparison with a summer day and the hot (club) night that follows.

One of Jamaica's hottest exports Shaggy brings the vocals for "Don't Say a Word" and for the up-tempo track "Carry Me Home" Grammy Award-winner, Sam Martin, paid a visit to the studio of Feldt.

2017 has undoubtedly been Sam's biggest year to date, with a packed tour schedule, release of his debut album as well as winning the Hit of The Year award during the Dutch Radio 100% NL Awards with his track "Summer On You". The same also earned him a Buma Award - the most prominent awards in the Dutch music industry.
