Paul Carrack on tour with The Eagles

Fans of the Eagles may well already know his voice, but now they'll know his name with the announcement that the Eagles have confirmed Paul Carrack as a special guest on four dates of their upcoming European tour.

Separately, Paul Carrack and the Eagles have truly earned legendary status, but they also have a long history together as Paul Carrack explains:
'I first met Timothy B. Schmit in 1975 when I went across to the US with Ace, where our single 'How Long' was #1 in the US charts. Down the years we kept in touch and Timothy would come to our shows and in 1995 I went over to the US to work with him and Don Felder. I’d taken with me a song that Pete Vale, Jim Capaldi and I had written called 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' and the Eagles recorded it.' 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' was subsequently used on the album 'Hell Freezes Over', and also spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart in the US.
In 2006 the Eagles won the Silver Clef award (part of the prestigious Nordoff-Robbins awards) and Timothy B. Schmit requested that Paul Carrack present them with it. It was around that time that Timothy B. Schmit told Paul Carrack that the Eagles were about to record a new album and asked him to write a song for it. The result was 'I Don't Want To Hear Any More' and this featured on the album 'Long Road Out Of Eden' which went to #1 around the world including the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Paul Carrack then recorded the same song, with Timothy B. Schmit and Don Henley on backing vocals, for his most recent album, 'I Know That Name'.
Paul Carrack is surely one of the hardest working musicians in the music industry. With a career that spans 40 years, including guest appearances on over 60 albums, as well as writing for Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Michael McDonald and Jools Holland among others, he continues to be a consummate live performer, touring annually – he has only recently finished a 34 date UK tour. He’s also enjoying worldwide success: his single, ‘I Don’t Want To Hear Any More’ has just become the “No.1 most added” single to the “Adult Contemporary” playlists in the US. The Eagles have so far had five #1 singles and six #1 albums in the US over the course of their four-decade history, and were inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame’ in the US in 1998. Separately, these legendary artists are incredible. Touring live together promises to be very special indeed.
'I'm really excited about playing the outdoor shows with The Eagles; although there’s been a connection for many years I’ve never had the chance to work on the same show before and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to play in front of their fans. Hopefully I might be able to win over a few to my music! Playing in such huge venues will be fantastic, I've played in venues large, small and all sizes in-between and the great connection I get with the audience always remains the same. This time round it will just with lots of people! As long as I have the opportunity to play live with my band, I will be happy.' Paul Carrack
