Op vrijdag 10 december zal het debuutalbum van de nieuwe Amerikaanse rockgroep The Damned Things in Nederland uitkomen. De band bestaat uit leden van Fall Out Boy (Joe Trohman en Andy Hurley), Everytime I Die (Keith Buckley) en Anthrax (Scott Ian en Rob Caggiano).
'Ironiclast', zoals het album heet, is geproduceerd door Rob Caggiano en mede geproduceerd door JoeTrohman. Het album is opgenomen in Brooklyn, Chicago en Buffalo.
"Musically, it’s a good representation of the band", zegt Trohman. "It has the sludgy riffs, but there’s a catchy chorus, a tempo change breakdown, and some leads/solos. There’s a real bluesy feel to the verses. It’s everything the group stands for."
The Damned Things heeft in juni nog een gratis show gegeven in de Melkweg. Dat de band in 2011 Nederland wederom aan zal doen, is een ding wat zeker is.
