Vijftien legendarische helden uit de muziekgeschiedenis kiezen een song uit hun repertoire, laten die vertolken door vijftien helden van vandaag en dat alles ter ondersteuning van de echte helden: Kinderen die moeten leven met de brute gevolgen van oorlog. Zie hier de inhoud van Heroes Vol. 1 in een notendop. EMI brengt dit bijzondere album uit op 16 februari, een gedeelte van de opbrengst gaat naar War Child Nederland.

Elbow naar Nederland

2008 is nu al een legendarisch jaar in de geschiedenis van de uit Manchester afkomstige band Elbow. Na tweemaal eerder genomineerd te zijn voor de prestigieuze Mercury Prize, heeft de band de nominatie voor de prijs dit jaar verzilverd voor het album The Seldom Seen Kid. Elbow viert dat met een tour door Europa waarbij ze in Nederland maar liefst 5 concerten geven.
