MRC has merged label operations with Genetic Recordings Label. The label was founded in 1984 by legendary producer Martin Rushent as a spin off from his Genetic Studios enterprise.
Genetic founder, Martin Rushent commented: "Its great to be getting together with MRC. They offer a refreshingly different attitude and view to the music business. The idea behind the rejuvenated Genetic will be as an incubator for new and upcoming talent. I intend to be actively involved in producing some of the bands we sign."
The merger will see Genetic operate independently under its own name with Martin Rushent becoming Creative Director. The first release is a brief nod to the past and will be a limited edition 7" remix of a Human League track. Follow on releases from new bands are currently in production.

MRC Co-Founder Jaye Muller commented "Martin is not only one of the best producers in music he is also one of the nicest chaps we have met in the industry , We are delighted to be working with him".

The first release on Genetic hits the stores and download sites in late November.

About Martin Rushent
Martin Rushent entered the music business in the early 70's as an engineer working on records by T. Rex, David Essex and Yes amongst others. However it was after punk that he came into his own as a producer working on records by The Buzzcocks, Generation X, Altered Images, XTC and the  Stranglers. However it was the success of The Human League and their breakthrough 6 million  selling, 1981 album Dare which cemented his reputation as a producer. He is credited as one of the pioneers of remixing with his cut and paste version of Dare, 1982's Love and Dancing. A record that was to set the blueprint for dance floor remixes until this day.

About MRC
MRC is a UK, US and Indian based independent record company. Formed in December 2006 by three successful internet and music entrepreneurs (Jaye Muller, Paul Myers & John Pitcher) it follows what it defines as "digital first principals". These are a set of rules, strategies & techniques needed to prosper in the ever-changing & increasingly digital, music marketplace. As Jaye Muller commented in the founding statement "Whilst other record & music companies are becoming more technologically aware and digitizing their strategies and operations, MRC is starting from the opposite direction and from the opposite pole.... MRC is a technology company moving into music"
