Operator Please is een indie rockband uit Queensland, Australië. De band ontstond in 2005 en de groep bestaat uit 5 personen.
In november 2007 verscheen hun debuutstudioalbum "Yes Yes Vindictive". Als voorlopers van het album verschenen de single "Get What You Want", "Leave It Alone" en "Just a Song About Ping Pong", in Australië. Ddit laatste nummer was hun meest succesvolle tot nu toe in Australië en kreeg twee nominaties voor de Australische ARIA Awards in 2007, o.a. voor "Best Pop Release"...

De Australische groep Silverchair heeft 28 oktober maar liefst vijf Aria Awards gewonnen tijdens de uitreiking van de 21-ste Australische ARIA-awards (Australian Recording Industry Association Awards). Silverchair werd onderscheiden in de categorieën van "Single of the year", voor 'Straight lines', "Album of the year", voor hun meest recente album 'Young modern', "Best Group", "Best Rock Album" en "Highest Selling Single" voor "Straight Lines".
