Universal Music brengt op 19 september 2014 Colin Blunstone Collected uit. De 3CD-box biedt met zestig tracks het meest complete overzicht van Blunstone’s carrière ooit.
Colin Blunstone start zijn muzikale carrière met de band The Zombies in 1964. Zijn unieke stem en de arrangementen van toetsenist Rod Argent zorgen voor hits als ‘She’s Not There’, ‘Tell Her No’ en ‘Time Of The Season’. Voor diverse muziekverzamelaars en muzikanten geldt het album Odessey And Oracle (1968)bovendien als één van de beste albums aller tijden.
Na zijn vertrek uit The Zombies in 1968 richt Colin Blunstone zich op zijn solocarrière. Hij brengt hits voort als ‘Caroline Goodbye’ (1971), ‘Say You Don’t Mind’ (1972), ‘I Want Some More’ (1972), ‘I Don’t Believe In Miracles’ 91972), ‘Andorra’ (1973), 'Wonderful' (1973), 'What becomes of the broken hearted' w/Dave Stewart (1980), 'The tracks of my tears' (1982), 'Old and wise' w/The Alan Parsons Project (1982), 'She's not there' (1986)
Naast zijn solowerk werkt Blunstone ook succesvol mee aan vier studioalbums van The Alan Parsons Project en verzorgt hij de zang voor het al jarenlang in de topregionen van de Top 2000 aanwezige nummer, de popklassieker ‘Old And Wise’ (1982).
Zijn stem wordt gezien als één van de meest opvallende en bijzondere stemmen uit de muziekgeschiedenis. Op dit verzameld werk staan al die bijzondere liedjes die hij maakte, solo, als bandlid van The Zombies, voor The Alan Parsons project, samen met Dave Stewart,
Universal Music heeft Colin Blunstone Collected in nauwe samenwerking met de zanger gemaakt. Bovendien heeft Blunstone bij elke track een persoonlijk verhaal geschreven.
Colin Blunstone komt in oktober voor vier optredens naar Nederland.
