13 Jaar na zijn album ‘The Ghost Of You And Me’ verschijnt op 9 maart een nieuw album van de bijzondere Engelse zanger Colin Blunstone, de man met die waanzinnig mooie en breekbare stem.
De productie van het nieuwe album was in handen van Jon Sweet samen met de succesvolle schrijver arrangeur Chris Gunning (die al eerder met Colin samenwerkte met ‘Say You Don’t Mind’) .
Het nieuwe album verschijnt op het eigen label van Colin Blunstone Ennismore Records de distributie loopt via Go ! Entertainment.
Het album ‘The Ghost Of You And Me’ opent met de titeltrack, gevolgd door "Follow" een nummer met een solide rhythm, rock meets pop met power & melody.
Een bijna groter contrast kan er niet zijn met track 3 "Second Avenue" waarop alleen piano en strings samen met de stem van Colin iets fragiels laten horen.
Het nummer ‘Love Left A Long Time Ago’ is een mooi voorbeeld van een liedje dat je pakt en niet meer loslaat.
Niemand heeft een stem zoals Colin Blunstone en van wie we kunnen stellen dat hij behoort tot een legende in de Britse popmuziek. Zijn stem werd al eens omschreven door het Engelse Clash Magazine als: “wispy wonderfulness”
Prachtige solohits van Colin zoals "Caroline Goodbye" (1971), "Say You Don't Mind" (1972), "I Don't Believe In Miracles" (1972), "Wonderful" (1973), "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted". Maar ook zijn klassieker met The Alan Parsons Project "Old and Wise" is historisch.
Zijn werk met The Zombies is alom bekend en de 2008 reunie van de groep met Rod Argent is inmiddels ook alom bekend.
Door de jaren heen is Colin altijd erg actief geweest, niet altijd op de voorgrond, vaak ook achter de schermen in soms heel fraaie projecten, zoals van Mike Batt in "The Tarot Suite" (1979), Alan Parsons Project "Eye in the sky" (1982), Alan Parsons Project "Ammonia Avenue" (1984), The Bolland Project "Darwin-The Evolution" (1991), Duncan Browne "Songs Of Love And War" (1995), Alan Parsons "The Time Machine" (1999).
