In May 2007, an unprecedented group of musicians gathered together in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., to honor Paul Simon as the first recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Alison Krauss, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Miriam Makeba, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Marc Anthony, Art Garfunkel, Shawn Colvin and a host of others joined Paul onstage in a multicultural tribute to the music of a great American artist and a great American art form. The superb live performances were interspersed by archive video clips – including one of Paul Simon and George Harrison – which made the evening all the more entertaining. This gala event, called "the greatest night of popular music ever presented in our nation's capital," was beautifully filmed and captured in stunning 5.1 Surround Sound for a truly pure concert experience.
