De Amerikaanse band The Foxboro Hottubs bestaat sinds december 2007 toen de band debuteerde op de website: http://www.foxborohottubs.com .
Al vrij snel ontdekten fans dat de groep bestaat uit leden van Green Day en mag deze band gezien worden als een zij-project van de band, hetgeen door Green Day/Foxboro Hot Tobs-zanger Billie Joe Armstrong snel erna ook werd bevestigd: "The only similarity between Green Day and Foxboro Hot Tubs is that we are the same band".
